At present, Southern Power Grid is connected to Hong Kong through four 400 kV lines and seven 132 kV lines, and to Macau through six 220 kV lines and four 110 kV lines. Its power transmission to Hong Kong accounts for a quarter of its electricity consumption, and to Macau accounts for 70% of its electricity consumption.

To assist in the construction of a demonstration zone for deep cooperation between the mainland and Hong Kong and Macao, Southern Power Grid Corporation will further strengthen the interconnection of power infrastructure between Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao, and enhance the mainland's ability to guarantee power supply to Hong Kong and Macao.
